Air

China's major cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, are all served by direct flights from other countries. The domestic airlines spread out from Beijing to all the provinces, autonomous regions, centrally administered municipalities and open cities.
Latest statistics show that currently China's civil aviation industry has opened up more than 110 air routes for scheduled flights, including over 130 international airlines leading to 60-plus cities in more than 30 countries.
Delays of china's airlines are much less frequent than in the past. All flights are no smoking. Flight announcements are in English as well as Chinese.

Trains

Railways offer the principal means of transport for goods and people throughout China. The major routes are from Beijing to Guangzhou, Shanghai, Harbin, Chengdu and Urumqi. There are four types of fare: hard seat, soft seat (only on short-distance trains such as the Hong Kong to Guangzhou), hard sleeper and soft sleeper. The Railway Ministry operates 14 short routes especially designed for tourists. You can find more information as follows:

Bus

Public transport is frequently very crowded. Minibus is a middle ground between the expensive taxis and crowded urban buses. In many hotels, there are shuttle bus services that take tourists to the airport and other places.

Long-distance buses are the most important means of transport in many parts of China, especially where there is no railway line. Buy tickets in advance from the bus station. There are main bus stations for overland buses in most cities.

Waterway

Among nearly all of China's major ports, including Shanghai, Hong Kong, Xiamen and Zhongshan, comfortable ship service is provided. There are regular ferry and boat connections between Hong Kong and Guangzhou. The same is true for some of the big rivers, particularly the Yangtze, Heilongjiang River, Pearl River and the Grand Canal between Beijing and Hangzhou. The Yangtze River is the 'golden waterway' of China's inland river transport.
