WMF 2006
: 25,000 Trade Visitors Visited the
Largest Woodworking Machinery Exhibition
in China
WMF 2006 (incorporating the 11th W.M.
Fair China and Furniwood China), the
largest woodworking machinery exhibition
in China closed with great success
on March 10, 2006 at China International
Exhibition Centre (CIEC), Beijing.
A record-breaking number of 24,453
trade visitors were drawn to the 4-days
event, representing a 27 % increase
over the previous edition in 2004.
There were 1,101 overseas visitors
from 65 countries/ regions, mostly
came from Russia, Mongolia, Germany,
Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Italy, Austria,
US, Hong Kong, Italy etc. The organizers
welcomed visitor delegations from Poland,
Vietnam, Russia, Sweden and Japan as
well as representatives from Gabon
and Spanish embassies. Besides, there
were a number of Chinese local delegations
from various furniture associations,
panel board associations and renowned
corporations.
With 530 exhibitors from 19 countries/regions,
the exhibition area reached 44,000
sqm with a sound international scale.
Exhibitors were satisfied with their
participation. Mr. Addie Kwan, Managing
Director of Homag China Golden Field
Ltd. said, "In the past, clients
are used to sit down and discuss in
detail. But now, we just stand and
chat, shake hands and a deal is concluded." In
their booth, there were signage of "Compliments
to xxx company for purchasing this
equipment" posted on various machines.
Mrs. Luther, Director of Huntsman Polyurethanes
(China) Ltd reflected that the exhibition
was impressive both in terms of scale
and exhibitors number. "WMF was
undoubtedly considered a most influential
trade exhibition in China." Mr.
GAO, the General Manager of FushanTian'an
Plastics, highly appraised of this
exhibition and remarked, "About
200 visitors visited our booth and
exchanged contacts within only a few
hours!" Mr. Fang, Manager of Kirschner
Maschinenbaualso said that he had reaped
a harvest in the exhibition by meeting
visitors from all over the world. He
already expressed the intention to
join the 2008 WMF again. The CEO of
Technocell Dekor also highly commended
the show. He said that the show has
provided an outstanding platform for
information exchange among exhibitors
and visitors.
On the other hand, feedback from visitors
was also encouraging. According to
an on-site visitor survey, 88% of the
visitors considered WMF a very influential
exhibition in the industry. 70% expressed
that they have established initial
business deal at the show. And 96%
commented that the exhibition was very
good.
Mr. Chen, Project Manager of a decorative
paper company from Guangdong, commented
that the quality of the exhibitors
was high and very international. "Both
renowned international leaders and
first class domestic companies were
present. Among those local wood shows
I have visited, WMF is the most worthwhile
to visit." Mr. Han, Secretary-general
of Shandong Furniture Association also
highly commended WMF06. He said that
there were a number of overseas exhibitors
and visitor quality was very high.
Concurrent technical seminars were
well-received by visitors. Beijing
Forestry Machinery Research Institute,
China National Forestry Machinery Association,
China wood International Inc., China
Forestry Import & Export Co. Ltd
and Siempelkamp addressed on various
topics including wood-structured house,
strawboard equipment, Chinese woodworking
market, Chinese panel board market,
Chinese furniture domestic market and
export market etc.
WMF 2006 was organized by China National
Forestry Machinery Association (CNFMA),
Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, China
International Forestry Group Corporation
and China Architecture Decorates Association.
Established in 1986, WMF is now the
largest woodworking show with the longest
history in China. The next edition
will be organized at Beijing in 2008.
