19,800 local and overseas trade buyers visited EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2007 (The 6th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology, The 5th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment and Contractors' Supplies), from June 5 - 7, 2007 at Shanghai International Exhibition Center (INTEX), Shanghai, PR China. The fairs successfully performed as a splendid business platform for technological exchange and trade opportunities in the power electric industry.
The opening day was well-attended by key officials in the industry, power group and power grid corporations, with guests from China Electricity Council, Three Gorges Project Construction Commission of The State Council of China, State Electricity Regulatory Commission East China Bureau, East China Grid Company Limited, Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Company and Shanghai Electric Power Company Limited, etc.
EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai is highly recognized for its professionalism. The 2007 fairs gained positive responses from exhibitors. Ms. Jiang, Marketing Communications Department of GE Energy found visitor quality was higher than their expectation. They met considerable power generation corporations and power design institutes at their booth and in the symposium, with overwhelming responses. Siemens also took this platform to promote their newly power transmission and distribution customer center in China to those trade visitors.
Reviewed by an on-site survey, the quality of visitors is high in terms of their business nature. 18.9% of visitors were power supplies bureaux and power groups corporations, 10.5% were import and export corporations of electric power equipment & instrumentation, 9.3% were power generation corporations, 9.3% were LV electrical equipment manufacturers, 7.1% were power / electricity engineering maintenance and construction, and others from power dispatch and control centers, power research and design institute, and industrial end users.
EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2007 let buyers and exhibitors avail themselves of the opportunities to exchange trend-setting information & technology, and possible trade opportunities. 14 local buyer delegations organized by electric associations from provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Henan, Shanxi and Nei Mongolia were enthusiastic in sourcing new products at the fairground.
Hager Electric, the specialist in providing electrical energy solutions in residential and functional building, presented its innovative Tebis home automation system (Intelligent Management System) at the fairground. The system uses the technology of the installation Bus, for the control of lighting, heating and roller-shutters or other similar loads, in both residential and commercial applications. It creates a comprehensive range of automation solutions to meet a wide variety of requirements, offering simple solutions to make installations easy, and also offering benefits that a traditional electrical installation cannot provide.
Visitor could also find benefits brought by various concurrent activities. BHI.COM.CN, under Research Institute of National Development & Reform Commission of PR China (NDRC), organized an on-site forum on "Focusing on Industry Information, Entering 2007 Electric Power Market Rationally" for the first time at the fair. Mr. Wang of NDRC, for instance, presented an analysis on China Electric Power Construction Policy, Introduction on China Electric Power Industry and the Market Forecast For 2007.
At the meantime, symposiums on Power T&D and Green Power Technology were well-attended by trade professionals for in-depth study on hot issues and new techniques. Topics included "Power T&D' by Areva, "Integrated Optimization and Control Solutions for Fossil Power Plant " by GE Energy, "The application and development of LSR on HV hollow core insulators" by Dow Corning and "Cold shrinkable joints are considered as the top technology for jointing cables during the last 15 years" by Nexans.
Organized by China Electricity Council, the China International Power Generation Technology Conference featuring "Green Power - New Development of China Power Generation in the 21st Century" was held with a success. Over 200 delegates from power plants, power corporations, power supply bureaux, design institute and the related Governmental officials attended this significant event and shared insights on renewable energy, energy efficiency, environmental protection and power construction.
EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2007 attracted over 250 exhibitors from 16 countries / regions to unveil their innovative equipments and facilities on power generation, power T&D, environmental power, control & testing, and electrical products. Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of Germany and the US Commercial Service organized Germany and US pavilions in the fairground, and leading corporations including ABB, Areva, GE Energy, 3M, Siemens, Japan AE Power, Daqo Group, Toshiba, Hitachi, Hyosung, Hager, EDF, Dow Corning, Ormazabal, Schniewindt, Huadian Switchgear and ENEL, etc.
Founded in 1986, EP / Electrical China and EP / Electrical Shanghai are the only electric power expo organized by China Electricity Council, co-organized by Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd and held rotationally in Shanghai and Beijing in alternate years. As the largest and most reputable electric power and electrical trade fair in China, EP China / EP Shanghai are also the only power expo endorsed by UFI Approved Event in China, with full support from major power group corporations and power grid corporations.
2008 EP China / Electrical China will return to Beijing from November 12 - 14, 2008 at the China International Exhibition Center, PR China. The organizers expected that over 400 exhibitors will occupy the four exhibition halls in 14,000 sqm exhibit area.
