EP China / Electrical China return to Beijing in 2006

Stepping into its flourishing edition of the 11th in Beijing, EP China 2006 - "The 11th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology" and Electrical China 2006 - "The 4th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment and Contractors' Supplies" will be held from 31 Oct - 3 Nov 2006 at China International Exhibition Centre, Beijing, PR China.

EP and Electrical exhibitions, stage in Beijing and Shanghai every alternative years, are the ONLY exhibitions of its kind in China that receive exclusive support from the State Electricity Regulatory Commission and China Electricity Council. The exhibitions are well regarded as the most established and reputable one in China. The last event in 2004 recorded 200 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions including official pavilions from Germany, Korea and Czech Republic. The exhibitions also drew a total of 30,000 visitors from all regions of China and some from overseas, taking up over 10,000sqm exhibition area.

China now ranks second in the world in terms of its power generation capacity. However, the continuous growth of China's economic and industrial development is stimulating a surge in demand for power. It has been projected that the annual power consumption in China in 2020 will be increased to 4600Twh, up 87%. In the next 15 years, the annual power consumption rate will reach to 160TWh. In the next 30 years, China will invest more than 2 trillion US dollars on power industry, and China's power generation equipment purchasing demand accounts for 32% of the world's total. EP / Electrical China 2006 will provide an effective platform for exhibitors and their potential buyers for business opportunity and technological exchange.

EP / Electrical China 2006 continue to receive overwhelming response from both trade associations and international leading companies. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour of Germany, the Korea Electrical Manufacturers' Cooperative (KMEC) of Korea, Embassy of USA - Commercial Service and UBI France had announced to organize official pavilions. In addition, a number of renowned market players such as 3M, ABB, Areva, Cooper, Dupont, Eaton, EDF, Emerson, NRG, Hitachi, Siemens, Hyosung, Japan AE Power System, LS Cable, LS Industrial Systems, Phoenix, Schniewindt, Toshiba, Huadian Switchgear, Rittal etc will showcase their latest technology and equipment.

Riding on the remarkable track records and enthusiastic responses from exhibitors, market leaders including, 3M, LS Cable, LS Industrial System, Japan AE Power have confirmed to expand their booth size. The exhibition is expected to have 30% expansion on scale, from original 3 exhibition halls to 4 exhibition halls. The total exhibition scale is expected to reach 14,000 sqm.

Mr. Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, the organizer of EP / Electrical China 2006, said that 74% of electricity in China is generated from coal burning. It is estimated that China will have a power shortage of between 32GW to 40GW by 2020, and will rely on renewable and new energy to fill the gap. China Renewable Energy Law was announced in Feb this year, and will go into effect on Jan 1, 2006. The China government will provide a series of incentives like tax reduction, favorable policies and financial allowance to activate the renewable energy market. To cope with the increasing market potential on renewable energy, there will be a new theme on "Renewable Energy and New Energy" to display the latest technology and equipment.

A series of symposium with topics on Power T&D Technology, Green Power Technology, IT (Information Technology) and Renewable and New Energy as well as technical seminars will be concurrently held during EP / Electrical China 2006.

EP / Electrical China 2006 are organized by State Electricity Regulatory Commission, China Electricity Council, and various Power Grid Corp and Power Group Corp while Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. is the overseas co-organizer.
