EP / Electrical China 2006 (The 11th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology and The 4th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment and Contractors' Supplies) will be held from October 31 - November 3, 2006 at the China International Exhibition Center (Hall 2 - 5), Beijing, PR China. Since 1986, EP / Electrical China 2006 has been highly developed and recognized as one of the most largest power expo in Mainland China.

EP / Electrical China 2006 is organized by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, China Electricity Council, with invaluable support from the five Power Grid Corporations and the two Power Group Corporations while Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd is the overseas co-organizer. This edition will feature a wide range of power equipments and technology, electrical equipments and accessories, as well as bringing the hottest theme zone "Renewable Energy" on display.

Rapid economic growth has accelerated energy demand in Mainland China rigorously, and has prompted its active development of renewable energy in recent years. In 2005, Mainland China's investment on renewable energy projects reached USD 6 billions, a breakthrough to the top of the world. Since the effective of the China Renewable Energy Law in January 2006, market demand for investment in the industry attracted large overseas power corporations to amplify their investment in China. The Renewable Energy theme zone presented in EP China 2006 aims at providing a platform for market interaction and business matching in the industry, comprising of solar power, wind power, water power, geothermal power, biomass power and nuclear power, etc.

As the world's 6th largest wind turbine manufacturer - Suzlon Energy Ltd. has scheduled to commence its production of Integrated Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) manufacturing facility in Tianjin by August 2006, and made their attempt to join EP China 2006. This establishment with annual production capacity of 600 MW demonstrates its support in meeting targets set by the China Renewable Energy Law. Another exhibitor, EDF which specialized in the nuclear, hydraulic and thermal sectors, has been one of the largest foreign actors in the electricity sector in China for almost 20 years, and has confirmed a large exhibit area this year.

EP / Electrical China 2006 is expected to increase by 30% in the show scale, taking a total of 4 halls. It has received unprecedented participation from overseas exhibitors coming from over 10 countries / regions, accounting for 70% of the total exhibitors. UBEAMA of UK, UBI France, The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of Germany, U.S. Commercial Service, IEEMA of India, Korea Electrical Manufacturers' Cooperative (KEMC), and RIET of Singapore, have confirmed to organize official pavilions to the expo, in which it is the first time of France, India and Singapore groups to participate in Chinese power expo.

A number of renowned local and overseas market players such as 3M, ABB, Areva, Schneider, GE Energy, Hitachi, Siemens, Toshiba, LS Cable, LS Industrial Systems, Dupont, Rittal, Eaton, Emerson, Japan AE Power System, Eaton, Hyosung, NRG, Huadian Switchgear, etc., over 200 exhibitors will showcase their latest technology and equipment there as well.

Besides, the China Power Technology Conference organized by China Electricity Council will be held concurrently. With the theme of "Sustainable Development of China Power Industry?h, the conference will provide high level education on new technologies in power generation, transmission and distribution, in-depth analysis on key issues of the development of China power industry, renewable energy, environmental protection, safety and security. With the support of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, State Environmental Protection Administration of China, The Energy Bureau, National Development and Reform Commission, the five major Power Group Corporations and the two Power Grid Corporations, it is expected that over 300 delegates from power corporations, power grid corporations, power plant contractors, related governmental departments, research institutes, etc. will attend the conference and the expo overwhelmingly.

To promote technological exchange, a whole range of symposia will be held concurrently. Specific topics include "Power T&D Technology", "Green Power Technology", "Information Technology" and "Renewable Energy".
