EP / Electrical Shanghai 2005 Closed with a Great Success
Over 80% of Exhibitors Signed Up for EP China 2006 in Beijing

The Premier EP Shanghai 2005 - "The 5th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology" and Electrical Shanghai 2005 - "The 4th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment and Contractors' Supplies" closed with a great success on 23 September at ShanghaiMart, Shanghai PR China.

The exhibition area of EP/Electrical Shanghai 2005 occupied over 10,000 sqm with more than 200 exhibitors coming from 15 countries and regions: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, Korea, PR China, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and USA, of which Germany, Korea, USA and Czech Republic organized official pavilions for the shows. Their participation indicated the importance of China's power and electrical market in their respective countries. Many renowned market players such as 3M, ABB, Alstom, Areva T&D, Cooper Electric, Eaton, Fuji Electric, CEEG, Hitachi, Hyosung, Japan AE Power Systems, LS Cable, Ormazabal, Siemens, Schniewindt and Toshiba had a prominent presence this year.

The show was well attended by a total of 24,500 professionals from all over China and overseas countries. According to the on-site visitor survey, over 80% of respondents made good comments on the quality of both the exhibitors and the exhibits.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Mr. Xie Zhenhua, Executive Vice President of China Electricity Council, Mr. Xu Hang, Director General of State Electricity Regulatory Commission East Bureau Office, as well as senior management from the major power and power grid corporations. "In the next ten years, China power industry will keep at a high growth rate, and the market potential of power industry in China is bright", said Mr. Stanley Chu, the Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd.

Exhibitors generally agreed that EP/ Electrical Shanghai 2005 was better compared with the previous edition. It was the first time LS Cable participated in the show, the person-in-charge said the show was very successful for its brand image promotion. Japan AE Power Systems and Hyosung had good comment on both visitor quality and quantity, they will participate again in EP/ Electrical China 2006 with larger booth size.

The responses from buyers' delegation and concurrent symposiums/ technical seminars were particularly encouraging. There were totally 11 delegation groups from different electrical industry associations and 13 concurrent symposiums/ technical seminars.

According to the on-site exhibitor survey, approximately 80% of the exhibitors were satisfied with visitor flow, both in terms of quality and quantity. With encouraging results this year, many exhibitors have confirmed / reserved their participation by upgrading their participation scale next year. For example, Japan AE Power Systems and LS Cable are considering doubling its booth size to approximately 100 square meters. Moreover, Korea, USA, Germany and France also agreed to organize official pavilions for EP China 2006.

EP/ Electrical China 2006 will be rotated to Beijing from 31 October to 3 November next year. The organizer expects 30% expansion on show scale, from original 3 exhibition halls to 4 exhibition halls. The total exhibition scale expects to reach 14,000 sqm. To cope with the increasing market potential on renewable energy, there will be a new theme on "Renewable Energy and New Energy".

EP/ Electrical Shanghai 2005 were organized by China Electricity Council and Adsale Exhibition Services Limited. Staging in Beijing and Shanghai in every alternate years, EP and Electrical exhibitions are the only exhibitions of its kind in China that receive exclusive support from the China Electricity Council, the five major Power Group Corps and the two main Power Grid Corps. It is the largest and the most influential power exhibition in China.
