Largest Power & Electrical Show in China Kick off Today (June 5)

EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2007 (The 6th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology, The 5th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment and Contractors' Supplies) opens today at Shanghai International Exhibition Center (INTEX), Shanghai, PR China. Organized by China Electricity Council and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, the 3-day expo attracts nearly 300 exhibitors from 16 countries / regions with their latest electric power equipment and technology.
The opening ceremony is attended by key officials in the industry, power group and power grid corporations, with representatives from State Electricity Regulatory Commission, East China Grid Co., Ltd., Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Co., Ltd., Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd. and China Electricity Council.
Mr. Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd remarked the constant growth of power industry in China and the aspiration for technological upgrade boost market development in power and electrical industries, bringing huge market opportunities to local and overseas manufacturers. In EP / Electrical Shanghai, major industrial players gathered under one roof, serving as a universal platform for information exchange and equipment sourcing.
Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of Germany and the US Commercial Service organize Germany and US pavilions in the fairground. Moreover, leading corporations including ABB, Areva, GE Energy, 3M, Siemens, Japan AE Power, Daqo Group, Toshiba, Hitachi, Hyosung, Hager, EDF, Dow Corning, Ormazabal, Schniewindt, Huadian Switchgear and ENEL, etc., unveil their comprehensive equipment and facilities on power generation, power T&D, environmental power, control & testing, and electrical products, making a remarkable growth of 30% in exhibition scale as compared to EP Shanghai 2005.
The expo has gained wide industrial attention throughout China and overseas. Nearly 1,000 trade visitors from power supply bureaux, power group corporations, power generation, design institutes, electrical engineering and electrical equipment manufacturers made their online pre-registration. In addition, 14 buyer delegations are organized by electric associations to visit the expo, from provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Henan, Shanxi and Liaoning.
Symposiums on Power T&D and Green Power Technology presented by Areva, GE Energy, Dow Corning and Nexans, as well as technical seminar by Rittal are held on June 5 and 6, providing a platform for in-depth study on hot issues and techniques between exhibitors and industrial players.
On Level 2 of the fairground, on-site forum on "Focusing on Industry Information, Entering 2007 Electric Power Market Rationally" is presented by BHI.COM.CN which is under Research Institute of National Development & Reform Commission of PR China (NDRC), China National Association of Engineering Consultants (CNAEC) & China Association of Construction Enterprise Management (CACEM).
Moreover, China Electricity Council organizes the China International Power Generation Technology Conference alongside EP / Electrical Shanghai 2007, featuring "Green Power --- New Development of China Power Generation in the 21st Century". It explores more insights on renewable energy, energy efficiency, environmental protection and power construction. Over 300 delegates from power plants, power corporations, power supply bureau, design institute and the related Governmental officials are invited to this significant event.
Founded in 1986, EP / Electrical China and EP / Electrical Shanghai are organized by China Electricity Council and held rotationally in Shanghai and Beijing in alternate years. As the largest and most reputable electric power and electrical trade fair in China, EP Shanghai has become the only power expo endorsed by UFI Approved Event in China, with full support from major power group corporations and power grid corporations.
