Source: Keyin The development of Chinese printing industry has the following features in recent years:
Firstly, regional printing industrial zones are taking shape. Characteristic regional printing centers have preliminarily established in three economic zones i.e. Greater Pearl River Delta (including Hong Kong & Macao), Yangtze Delta and Bohai Rim, of which the gross output value accounts for over two thirds of the printing industry nationwide.
Secondly, foreign exchange and cooperation further expands. In recent several years, nearly 100 printing enterprises (three forms: Sino-joint venture, cooperative business and exclusively foreign-owned enterprises) each year have been approved in China. Moreover, printing enterprises in China go abroad, and China?s export of prints, printing equipments and materials have increased year-on-year, and 2003 witnessed a total volume of RMB30 billion (USD3.66 billion) for prints exports.
Thirdly, new round of technical renovation focusing upon digital technology unfolds smoothly. CTP (computer to plate) technology becomes popular gradually, and the application of digital technology and network technology speeds up in newspaper printing, and digital printing market is actively developed. |
