1.In the new century, Chinese printing industry will embrace a new opportunity period for strategic development
1)The target of building a well-off society in an all-around way and quadrupling GDP in 2020 set up by the 16th National Congress of CPC brings excellent market opportunities to printing industry.
2)China?s access into WTO, economic integration into the world in an all-around way and further reform and opening provide a huge market space for the development of Chinese printing industry.
3)With Beijing?s successful bidding for Olympics 2008 and Shanghai?s for Expo 2010, enormous investments of Olympic and world expo economies will convert into consumption demands and bring huge market opportunities for printing service.
2. Future Development Target of Chinese Printing Industry will be realized in two steps The 1st step, try to build up a global key printing base in 2010, with major targets as follows:
1) Under a scientific development philosophy, promote rapid and healthy development of printing industry and maintain an annual average development speed of about 9%, slightly higher than that of the national economy. In 2010, total output value of the printing is expected to reach about RMB450 billion (USD54.88 billion), accounting for over 2% of GDP.
2) Construct three characteristic regional printing centers with strong composite strengths. Build up the Greater Pearl River Delta into a foreign-oriented printing center, Yangtze Delta into a printing center with strongest composite strength and Bohai Rim into an advanced publishing & printing center in China.
3) Push forward combination of Chinese character information processing technology with digital and network technologies, develop printing technologies with Chinese characteristics and independent innovation, and foster a batch of backbone enterprises with international competitive edge.
4) Speed up the structural adjustment of the industry, and foster a batch of backbone enterprises with international competitive edge and a batch of famous brands with global influences.
5) Accelerate printing marketization. Establish a uniform, open, competitive and orderly printing market system nationwide.
The 2nd step, by 2020, China will construct a well-off society in an all-around way, actualize a change from a big global printing power to great global printing power and rank ahead in the world in respect of her printing industry. |
